"high"の同韻語自体は改悪ではないかもしれなのですがいくつかは翻訳すべきです。 （別の形式で書き換える） これらの形式の多くは地理的に広く分布しているにもかかわらず どの形式が写字生が写本した原文の種本に属するのかを判断する情報が不足しています。 それはintroduction の後半です。 他の中期英語の方言を分析することでD版のテキストは幾つかの問題に光を投げかけることができ結局 それが写字生のレパートリー（技術、手法、工夫）に対する知識を深めることになるでしょう。 そしてすでに見てきたように、"the Seven Sages"「七賢物語」テキストは、 原文オリジナル版（前ページ系統図ならばペアレントバージョンＸ？）とD版の写字生の原文との間に コピーの痕跡をとどめています。 さらにまた相当重大な"translation" 転換・変形を経過した同韻語もあることを示唆する証拠があります。 例えば、

thareは、他の2行連句に wereとの誤った脚韻があります。 この同韻語はオリジナル形式よりもむしろ北部方言の写字生のレパートリーの一部分であることを 示しながら。

如何にもin mykil care(in great fear, dread,　非常に恐れて)は総体的にたぶん 北部方言の陳腐な引用句です。（rhyme-tag: 辞書的に tagはラテン語などの紋切り型の引用句、決まり文句、教訓、劇の納め口上です。） 1420行のように。
D版 第6物語 1420-1
He knoked and was in mykly kare. 　 彼はノックして大変恐れました。
He knocked and was in great dread.
The wyf asked wo was there.　　 妻はそこに誰がいるのかと聞きました。
The wife asked who was there.
394-5行において脚韻は、careとthare でしたが、 ここでは写字生は、thereをthareにわざわざ変えていません。 しかし1420-1行において損なわれた脚韻 (kare & there) が意味するのは、オリジナル形式は交互になりながら 前掲の決まり文句の引用1420行目の in mykil care　及び 394行目の in mykyl kare (in great dread,fear) を有していました。 これは現代の編集者を得られないのです。 たとえあらゆる語形のくずれあるいは転訛が、made/naked (前ページ参照)のように明快だったとしても 校訂はまだ何らかの方法で人為的習作になり得たでしょう。

"the Seven Sages"「七賢物語」のD版の模写原文は、読者（校正者）が失われた中期英語文字の復元を不可能にするような 徹底的な"Mischsprache"(???)地理的にバラバラと存在する文字で構成されています。 そして北部方言形式に書き換えた同韻語の大部分については 確実に正しい韻文で書けていると判読するには証拠が不十分であります。 このような問題を考えると写本の状態はそのままにして不完全韻、近似韻、同音韻、視覚韻等を 踏ませています。 形態学上の他言語からの形式と混交して崩れた語形は本文の解説的な注で検討を加えます。 校訂はそのために意義が明らかに改悪された場合や写字生が明白な間違いをした場合に限って提供されて 最小限に抑えられています。 これらのうちより推測かも知れない校訂に関してはその詩行を注釈します。 (Jill Whitelock博士注155) この本文原文は韻律の理由で校訂を行っていません。 "Mischsprache"(古書名？？)としての"status"(地位）はオリジナル韻文の"practice" (実地、やり方、、、反復された規則的語形）の 確かな証拠は全く提供されないのだからということです。

1845年出版のThomas Wright が編集した"The Seven Sages" Midland Version ミッドランドバージョンには いくらかのエラーが含まれていました。 Wright版の行番号はその校訂箇所が不正確であることに注意を要します。 [ ]内は写本にない文字や語、推測によって欠けていた語を埋めた事を著わしています。
