現代英語の文法は、You shall hear (= I will tell you) my story after dinner. (食事がすんでから話しましょう。) 『出典　A NEW ENGLISH GRAMMAR SELF-TAUGHT 新自修英文典　第5訂版　研究社』 それならば聞き手の　 皇帝の台詞：　Tell me , You shall tell me of .... は、I will hear of...？？？？？(訳し方は聞きましょう？) あくまでも原文は Thou shall ... 命令、指示

D版の写字生はどうして Ancillas (第４物語を話した賢人）と Empress （第7物語を話した皇后）の 描写においてだけワンパターン１行を抜かしたのか疑問です。皇帝命令 You shallがなくともアンシラス師のwill 意志でtell, 皇帝がThou shall tell構文でなくTell me と言った場合、 皇后にThow shall hear で男女対等に返答させました。 そしてこの両語り手の willと　shall の文の意味は同じであると現代英文法の参考書の例文にも なっているのです。 、 さらに 原文訳：1. I will tell of Ypocras 2. You shall hear of wickedness から 3. Ypocras is wickedness.

D版で恐らく欠落している行も中期英語種本では 夢を見た者がその夢を判ずる学者達のいる所へよく行ったものだったと伝え末尾は nam(take)と韻を踏むcam (come)であったかもしれません。 ≪ D版の"On the morning when the day was bright" [..................]という内容の 詩行は夢判断の箇所でC版や他のバージョンにはないので D写字生は韻律よりもあえて詩の定型文を導入し自由勝手に改変したようです。 中期英語語彙のbryght,bryӡtは dawn, grew light : 単に夜が明けた、空が白んだ、明るくなった時は英詩の決まり文句ですから晴れていようが曇りであろうが雨が降ろうが 風が吹こうがそういった天候と吉凶の夢占いを連想させる書き方です。 そして文末にcomeを用いずとも次行takeのみで持参とも訳せますが 脚韻重視の点でD版は欠行、C版は文頭でand come and bring です。≫
